The culinary experience here goes beyond mere sustenance. As Erinne Carey notes, the food quality remains high enough to enjoy leftovers the next day, underscoring the kitchen’s dedication to flavor and freshness. The mozzarella sticks, crunchy and irresistibly melty, embody the perfected comfort food that South Star Diner delivers consistently.
For families, the diner’s thoughtful kids menu ensures younger palates are equally satisfied, with options like mac and cheese and hot dogs paired with fries — filling and enjoyable portions that keep children happy. Dinner offerings such as the Meatloaf Leonardo Parmigiana and Turkey Dinner with stuffing and cranberry sauce show that South Star Diner’s menu embraces both classic and contemporary tastes without losing its comforting edge.
Service emerges as a highlight across countless visits. Whether it’s the swift delivery within 5-10 minutes, as Allen Cruz mentions, or the kind attentiveness praised by Jamie and Charlie Amiano, each visit feels personal and well-cared for. The combination of quality food, generous servings, and warm hospitality makes South Star Diner not just a place to eat, but a place to return to time and again.

“ An excellent experience... the staff was extremely friendly and the food was pretty good! ”
“ Classic Diner. Been going here for a decade plus. Good service, good food, good prices. Honey Glazed Chicken and Waffles are excellent! Still going here. Same great service as always. ”
“ My son and I stopped by here for breakfast one morning. We live locally but have never been to this diner before. Such a great experience, so much food for a great price! Friendly staff and the food came out in a timely manner Definitely will be returning ! ”
“ Old school diner feel, not a hole in the wall but what appears to be a staple. Ordered two items off the kids menu the Mac and cheese along with the hot dog both with fries and it was more than enough for the kids. Wife and I did a buffalo chicken wrap and BBQ crispy chicken on a brioche bun and the food was out instantly it felt like! Within 5-10 minutes and the food was delcious, highly recommend. Just what you're looking for if you're in the mood for quick diner food! ”
“ I have been here a few times before and this was by far the best visit yet! Great waitress, amazing food (that I actually ate the next day instead of throwing it out), and very clean as well. The waitress was kind and attentive as well as quick with requests. The food I got was mozzarella sticks - perfect crunch and soo melty in the cheese yum - and an omelette that was perfectly balanced with cheese, peppers, and onions with a side of super yummy hash browns- crispy without being burnt. It all reheated very well. The atmosphere was very relaxing and made me feel like I was at a diner in the movies. Can't quite explain it. I cannot wait to go back- I've also had their French onion soup and boy howdy that's great! I like a lot of cheese and they deliver with such a savory soup and the bread was the perfect thickness. ”
